Hey! My name is Michael Sharf, I am a Cal alumni and former US National Team member. My senior year I set the single season scoring record (98 goals) which still stands today, and was named the most valuable player of the 2007 NCAA Championship after our 8-6 victory over USC. I have loved coaching individual skills since I was 16 years old. Individual lessons allow an athlete to develop in the areas where they are deficient. My strength is in teaching a mentality, and attention to detail to my athletes. I believe all success in water polo starts from the mind and is reflected in having an attention to detail. Once the attention to detail is understood, the next level of foundational growth is moving through the water with efficiency, quickness and balance. Once movement is understood, more technical skills (shooting, passing, defensive moves, etc.) will flourish.
